You don't have to wait for the next update time to get fresh products. Click Refresh products now on the shop's pages, or in the shop's menu on the Shops list. Feedsmith downloads the shop's products again, then rebuilds every channel of the shop.
Channels also rebuild by themselves a few seconds after you save a change to them, so there's no separate button for that. If a channel fails to build, or its FTP upload fails, the organisation's owners and admins get an email.
If a download is already waiting to start, Refresh products now shows "A download is already waiting" and doesn't add a second one.
Besides your update times, Feedsmith downloads a shop after these changes:
Saving global store fields doesn't download the shop. It only rebuilds every channel.
The shop's Activity tab shows the download log, with the newest download first.
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Started | When the download started. |
| Trigger | Why it ran (see below). |
| Status | OK, Failed or Running. |
| Products | How many products the download found. |
| Details | The result, e.g. "Downloaded 1240 products", a line for each merge file, a products drop note, or the error message. |
These are the triggers you'll see.
| Trigger | Meaning |
|---|---|
schedule | One of your update times. |
manual | Someone clicked Refresh products now. |
shop created | The first download of a new shop. |
source changed | Someone saved the input feed settings. |
merge files changed | Someone saved the merge files. |
shopify connected | Someone connected the shop to Shopify. |
imported | The shop was imported from DataFeedWatch. |
force accept | Someone clicked Force accept after a products drop. |
A failed download that Feedsmith will try again shows "(will retry)" at the end of its details. See Update schedule, products-drop guard and alerts for how retries and holds work.
